LEVEL 3:

This is the last course which deals principally with physical techniques, as hands which have been “feeling, watching and listening” start to become “knowing”. This paraphrase of a saying of Sutherland’s indicates the way that first taste of craniosacral sensitivity becomes grounded in consciousness and the hands themselves begin to “know”.

To facilitate this development, the previous work is once again practised in the group situation, where personal experience is shared and individual insights enrichen the collective awareness. While taking the perception of subtle physical and energetic phenomena to a deeper level, we can also move towards working with emotions and the psyche.

The Viscerocranium, the bones of the face, including the hard palate and the eye orbit, are treated with a very delicate touch, which allows them to find new relationships with each other and the cranial base. In this way the membrane system, both intracranial and intervertebral, has the possibility of relaxing into a new harmony which can spread through the body and being.

Continuing with unwinding and Somato Emotional Release, we start to use language in sessions. The ‘significance detector’ is a clear message that what is happening in that moment is therapeutically important. This essential aspect of effective practice is experienced and integrated with the introduction to dialogue, in which we meet the inner healer.

The role of the facilitator, when a team is working in multiple hands on sessions, is considered and clear guidelines are stated. Finding a conclusion for the session is dealt with, including how to return to structure and invite release to be carried to the centre, the Dural Tube. This can complete the healing circle.
